Palladium
Overproof Rum · 700 mL · 60% ABV
Released and gone. The record stays in the register whether or not there is stock.
Bronze, World Rum Awards 2026
This release is finished. The dossier stays published, and the record stays with it. Current releases and availability sit with Mt Uncle Distillery.
Why it exists
Palladium exists for the bar. Bottled at 60% so it holds its shape against ice, sugar and citrus, and so a drink built on it still tastes like cane rather than like dilution.
Tasting
- Nose
- Concentrated cane and brown sugar, then dark berry and clove out of the cask. Alcohol sits over the top of it, at 60% it announces itself.
- Palate
- Heavy and direct. Dark-sugar sweetness burned off quickly by strength, with a dry tannin underneath.
- Finish
- Long and hot. Built for mixing rather than contemplation.
- Serve
- Split with soda, or in a tiki build where a standard-strength rum vanishes. Water opens it considerably.

The cask is not published for this release. Our internal record reads Barossa shiraz in reconditioned American oak; Mt Uncle publishes American oak hogsheads for Palladium. Two of our own sources disagree, so the row stays empty until the fill sheet settles it. See the Disclosure Standard.
Provenance
The number on your neck label resolves to a barrel record: what was filled, which cask, when it was drawn, and how it tasted each time we drew from it.

Strength without correction
Overproof is a decision made at the still, not in the tank. Palladium is cut tighter and bottled higher. The same still, the same cuts, held at 60% rather than brought down.

No age on the label, and that is deliberate
The front label reads Australian Rum · Far North Queensland · Palladium · Crafted with sugar cane · Cane, Reef, Rainforest. Where Iridium prints AGED 5 YEARS, Palladium prints nothing. The neck label carries Barrel No. 001 and a bottle number, 055 on this one.
So the site says "not stated" rather than guessing a number. An age statement has to describe the youngest spirit in the bottle, and no verified figure exists for this release. When one does, it goes here.
